  3rd Grade News December 14 - 18 T his Week’s Focus Memory - Matthew 1:21-22 and John 3:16 Religion - This week we continue talking about Jesus Language Arts - See attached sheet Math - We are starting to learn our multiplication facts.  I will have flashcards for the students to use for practice. Spelling – Prefixes Handwriting – We finish up lowercase cursive letters. Social Studies - We begin Unit 2 about finding places in the United States. Our Christmas party will be Tuesday, December 22nd.  Unfortunately parents are still unable to join us for the party.  We will have snacks, a game, and a craft.  We will also be doing a gift exchange.  Girls should bring a $5-8 gift for a girl and boys should bring a $5-8 gift for a boy.       3rd Grade News December 7 - 11 T his Week’s Focus Memory -3rd Article and Meaning Religion - This week we continue talking about Jesus Language Arts - See attached sheet Math - This week we finish up chapter one over methods of multiplying with a test on Thursday.  Then we will start learning our multiplication facts. Spelling – Contractions Handwriting – We continue with lowercase cursive letters. Science - We finish up chapter 7 over Earth and our universe with a test on Friday. As we get closer to Christmas it gets harder and harder for us all to concentrate.  Keep working hard and putting your best effort into all that we do.  Now and always remember that it isn’t about how quickly you finish your work but whether you are doing your absolute best work. We are back in person!  I am excited to get back to a normal routine with the students.  We will work this week at figuring out what assignments I am missing or need to be corrected from our virtual learning adventure.   3rd Grade News November 9 - 13 T his Week’s Focus Memory -1st Article of the Creed Religion - This week we continue talking about the Holy Spirit. Language Arts - See attached sheet Math - We will finish up with subtraction this week.  We will review and have a test on Thursday. Spelling – Compound Words Handwriting – We continue with lowercase cursive letters. Science - We will finish up chapter 6 about Earth and Weather with a test on Thursday. Praying that God is continuing to keep your family healthy and safe through this interesting season of life.  It is supposed to be colder this week so PLEASE make sure that your child comes to school with weather appropriate wear to go outside for recess.  For morning recess students may want hats and gloves.   We are leading chapel this week.  Students should have brought home their speaking parts to work on.  They do not need to be memorized.  This chapel will be shown on Facebook Live.  If you do not have facebook please let m

Praying the class enjoyed their fall party on Friday.  I tried to include some Reformation and Halloween activities. This is a pretty quiet week.  I pray everyone stays healthy and productive. Language Arts - See attached sheet Math - We will review and take our addition test this week.  Then we will start on subtraction. Spelling – Syllable Patterns V/CV, VC/V Handwriting – We continue with lowercase cursive letters. Science - We will continue learning about Earth and Weather with lesson 4 and 5. Thank you all for being flexible for parent teacher conferences.  I was happy to get a chance to talk to all of you.  If we didn’t get a chance to talk please let me know when you would be available this week to have a meeting. Our fall party is on Friday.  Unfortunately, we can not have visitors for the party.  Students are able to wear their costumes for the party and we will play some games. Language Arts - See attached sheet Math - This week we review and test over what we have learned about addition. Spelling – Vowel Diphthongs Handwriting – We continue with lowercase cursive letters.
