3rd Grade News: November 1-5

    3rd Grade News November 1 - 5 This Week’s Focus Memory - Psalm 147:4 and Colossians 1:16 Religion - This week we will cover lessons 25 through 31. Language Arts - See attached sheet. Spelling – Words with spl, the, squ, str, scr Handwriting – This week we continue to learn how to write our lower case letters in cursive. Math - This week we start learning our multiplication facts.  Students will bring flashcards home on Friday to help them study these facts.  They will take multiplication fact tests and those who pass all 11 of the time tests will be rewarded at the end of the year with a milkshake party. Science - This week we start chapter 7 with our study of the solar system.  We will work on lessons 1 and 2. Thank you all for a fun Red Ribbon Week last week.  I look forward to getting back to a more normal schedule this week.  We are at the start of the second quarter with a fresh start.  Kick it off right by working hard, taking your time, and doing your best work possib

    3rd Grade News October 25-29 This Week’s Focus Memory - 10th Commandment and Meaning Religion - This week we will cover lessons 22 and 24. Language Arts - We are finishing up our grammar and comprehension that was started last week. Spelling – Compound Words Handwriting – This week we continue to learn how to write our lower case letters in cursive. Math - We will finish up our introduction to multiplication with a test on Thursday. Social Studies - This week we finish Unit 2 over finding places in the United States with a test on Thursday. We have a fun week ahead of us.  We will continue with the grammar, comprehension, and spelling that we started last week.  Our test over these things will be on Tuesday. It is Red Ribbon week, so there are dress up days each day.  I will try my hardest to remind you the night before what the next day’s theme is.  Thursday is squad day.  I would like each student to wear something super hero themed; this should not be a costume and can

      3rd Grade News October 18-20 This Week’s Focus Memory - 2 Peter 3:18 Religion - This week we continue talking about Martin Luther in lessons 20 and 21. Language Arts - See attached sheet. Spelling – Compound Words Handwriting – This week we continue to learn how to write our lower case letters in cursive. Math - We have started Multiplication.  This week we will be talking about using arrays to multiply and the commutative property. Social Studies - This week we continue in Unit 2 over finding places in the United States We have a short week this week.  We will start our Language Arts unit this week and finish it next week.  This means that we will not have a Spelling or Language Arts test this week.  We will have a memory quiz on Wednesday.     3rd Grade News October 12-15 This Week’s Focus Memory - 9th Commandment and meaning Religion - This week we continue in Unit 2.  We will cover lessons 17-19 Language Arts - See attached sheet. Spelling – Final Syllable -le Handwriting – This week we continue to learn how to write our lower case letters in cursive. Math - This week we finish up subtraction with a test on Wednesday.  We will then dive into multiplication! Social Studies - This week we continue in Unit 2 over finding places in the United States I am asking for some volunteers to help us with our October activity next week Wednesday (10-20).  I have several activities planned and could use some help supervising and helping the kids with the activities. It would be from 12:30 - 2:00.  If you would be available to help please let me know asap.
