      3rd Grade News December 20-22 This Week’s Focus Memory - None Religion - We will be talking about the first Christmas Language Arts - We will be doing some activities and writing connected with a couple different Christmas books. Spelling – None Handwriting – This week we continue learning our capital cursive letters. Math - We are still working on our multiplication facts.  Several students have passed many of our timed tests already.  Keep up the good work! Social Studies - None Christmas party on Wednesday, December 22nd.  If you were assigned something for the party, please send it in as soon as possible.  We will have a game, gift exchange, and snack time.       3rd Grade News December 13-17 This Week’s Focus Memory - Third Article and Meaning Religion - We will go through lessons 45 through 48 this week. Language Arts - See attached sheet Spelling – Suffixes Handwriting – This week we continue learning our capital cursive letters. Math - We are still working on our multiplication facts.  Several students have passed many of our timed tests already.  Keep up the good work! Social Studies - We are starting Unit 4 over Settling in the United States. One more full week before Christmas break.  This week we have several exciting activities happening.  The students will be making gingerbread houses with their chapel families, the Christmas luncheon with the ladies of St. Stephen’s, and our Christmas concert on Friday.  Next week we will have our Christmas party starting at 10:15.  Parents are welcome to attend.             3rd Grade News December 6-10 This Week’s Focus Memory - Second Article Meaning Religion - We will go through lessons 42 through 45 this week. Language Arts - See attached sheet Spelling –Spellings of /j/, /s/, /k/ Handwriting – This week we continue learning our capital cursive letters. Math - From now until Christmas Break we will be practicing our multiplication facts.  This will be done with games, timed tests, and websites. Social Studies - We will finish Unit 3 over Geography and how it affects our lives with an open book test on Friday. Please, please, please be working with your child on their multiplication facts.  We are spending a lot of time on this because it is so important.  If you need ideas of how to study other than flashcards, just send me a message and I can share several different games, apps, and websites that you can use.
