  3rd Grade News February 28 - March 4 This Week’s Focus Memory - Matthew 28:19 and What is Baptism? Religion - We continue in unit 6 this week with lessons 67-70. Language Arts - See attached sheet. Spelling – Homophones Handwriting – We have learned all of our letters now.  The rest of the year will be spent practicing writing in cursive. Math - We finish ch 9 with a test on Monday.  Then we will start on Ch 10 over fractions. Science - We will start our study of Energy and Its Forms. This week we have a full week of normal classes.  We will continue to work on our Mexico research in Technology and when we have some free time during the week.  Next week is National Lutheran Schools Week, so keep your eyes open for information about what is happening next week.     3rd Grade News February 21-25 This Week’s Focus Memory - The Conclusion of the Lord’s Prayer and Meaning Religion - We continue in unit 6 this week with lessons 65-67. Language Arts - See attached sheet. Spelling – Syllable Pattern CV/VC Handwriting – This week we continue learning our capital cursive letters. Math - We continue working on multiplying by multiples of ten. Social Studies - We will finish up Unit 5 over Cultures with a test on Wednesday. Science - We will start our study of Energy and Its Forms. This week will look a little more normal than last.  We will return to our normal reading unit and spelling this week.  We will continue to work on our research about Mexico during Technology time.   3rd Grade News February 14-18 This Week’s Focus Memory - The Seventh Petition of the Lord’s Prayer and Meaning Religion- We start unit 6 this week over how God’s love leads us to respond to others with love. Language Arts - We will be using our LA and spelling time this week to work on our research for International Night. Spelling – Mexico Research Handwriting – This week we continue learning our capital cursive letters. Math - We will have our test over area on Wednesday.  Then we will start on chapter nine about multiplying by multiples of ten. Social Studies - We continue in Unit 5 over Cultures. This week will have several different things happening.  Monday is our Valentine’s party, Field trip on Tuesday, we are not doing our regular reading unit this week, and I will be out of town Thursday and Friday.  If you have any questions or concerns on Thursday or Friday, please let me know, or contact Mr. Parris who will be here.       3rd Grade News February 7-11 This Week’s Focus Memory - The Sixth Petition of the Lord’s Prayer and Meaning Religion - We will finish up Unit 5 with a test on Thursday. Language Arts - See attached sheet. Spelling – VCCCV Handwriting – This week we continue learning our capital cursive letters. Math - This week we will finish our study of area.  The test won’t be until next week. Social Studies - We are starting on Unit 5 over Cultures.  This will tie in with our study of Mexico for International Night. We are in need of wood items for our next art project.  Please send these in as soon as possible.  Students also need to bring a cereal box.  Thanks for your help!
