  3rd Grade News March 28 - April 1 This Week’s Focus Memory - Titus 3:5 and How can water do such great things? Religion - We cover lessons 78-81 this week over the Means of Grace. Language Arts - See attached sheet. Spelling – Vowel Patterns ei, eigh Handwriting – We continue practicing our cursive handwriting. Math -  We start Chapter 11 which continues our study of fractions. Social Studies - We start Unit 6 over making communities better. I pray you all had a restful spring break.  This week we have a full week of learning and International Night.  This event takes place Thursday night from 6-7:30.  Please see the attached note for what we need for the evening.     3rd Grade News March 14 - 18 This Week’s Focus Memory - Mark 16:16 and What benefits does Baptism give? Religion - We cover lessons 74-77 this week over the Means of Grace. Language Arts - See attached sheet Spelling – Vowel Patterns au, augh, ou, ough Handwriting – This week we practice our cursive writing with the months and days. Math - We test over chapter 10 on Tuesday.  We will then start chapter 11 which continues to study fractions. Science - We continue our study of Energy this week. We have a full week ahead of us.  We will continue studying Mexico in our free times this week, we will also do a March activity on Tuesday.  If your child is going to miss any days next week, please let me know as soon as possible so that I know how many I need to plan for for those two days.   3rd Grade News March 7 - 11 This Week’s Focus Memory - 2 Peter 3:18 Religion - We finish Unit 6 and begin Unit 7 with lessons 70-72. Language Arts - We will be using our LA time to finish up our Mexico study. Spelling – No regular spelling this week. Handwriting – We have learned all of our letters now.  The rest of the year will be spent practicing writing in cursive. Math - We finish ch 10 with a test on Friday. Science - We continue our study of Energy this week. It is NLSW!  What a wonderful time to celebrate being a Lutheran school.  Please encourage your child to participate in our dress up days and activities.  If you have not yet registered for next school year please do so as soon as possible.  We would love to have your child back with us next year!
