3rd Grade News: May 2-6

        3rd Grade News May 2 - 6 This Week’s Focus Memory - Luke 11:28 & Luke 1:45 Religion - This week we cover lessons 91-93 Language Arts - See attached sheet. Spelling – Final Syllables Handwriting – We continue practicing our cursive handwriting. Math -  This week we finish chapter twelve with a review Monday and test on Tuesday.  We will then start chapter 13 over geometric figures. Social Studies - This week we will start Unit 7 over different cultures of the world. This week we have our field trip.  Please pay close attention to the weather for that morning as we will be outside.  Students may want to wear older shoes since we will be walking around outside and looking at animals.  Students do not need to bring a lunch because it is provided for us at the fairgrounds that day.       3rd Grade News April 25 - 29 This Week’s Focus Memory - Matthew 26:28 & 1 John 1:7 Religion - This week we cover lessons 87-90. Language Arts - See attached sheet. Spelling – Schwa Handwriting – We continue practicing our cursive handwriting. Math - This week we will continue chapter 12 with lessons 5-8 over measurements.  We will end the week with the chapter 12 review. Science - We will get through the rest of chapter 10 this week. We have drivers for our field trip next week.  Please sign the attached field trip form and return it to school by Monday, May 2.       3rd Grade News April 19 - 22 This Week’s Focus Memory - Acts 2:42 an What is the Sacrament of the Altar? Religion - This week we cover lessons 85 and 86 over the Second Table of the Law and the fourth commandment. Language Arts - See attached sheet. Spelling – Vowel Sounds in Moon and Foot Handwriting – We continue practicing our cursive handwriting. Math -  This week we will start chapter 12 with lessons 1-3 over time. Science - We start Chapter 10 over movement. I pray you had a blessed Easter, celebrating the resurrection of our Lord!  This week we get back to a more normal schedule.  On May 4th we are going to the Benton FFA’s Third Grade Agricultural Day.  We will need drivers for this field trip.  Please let me know ASAP if you are available to drive.     3rd Grade News April 11 - 14 This Week’s Focus Memory - None Religion - We will review Unit 7 and have a test on Wednesday. Language Arts - We will be studying Holy Week Spelling – None Handwriting – We continue practicing our cursive handwriting. Math -  We will finish our study of fractions with chapter 11 lessons 7 and 8. Science - We start Chapter 10 over movement. This week will be a shorter one.  We are focusing on Holy Week and the sacrifice that Jesus has made for us.  Thursday is VIP day with an early dismissal.     3rd Grade News April 4 - 8 This Week’s Focus Memory - Romans 6:4a and What does such baptizing with water indicate? Religion - We cover lessons 81-84 this week over the Means of Grace. Language Arts - See attached sheet. Spelling – Suffixes Handwriting – We continue practicing our cursive handwriting. Math - We will continue our study of fractions with chapter 11 lessons 4-6. Social Studies - We continue Unit 6 over making communities better. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!  International Night was a HUGE success.  I hope you enjoyed your time at school and the students all learned a lot.  I was so impressed with how well the students shared their information.  This week we have Fine Arts night on Thursday, and our next big thing is VIP Day on April 14th.
