  3rd Grade News September 28 - October 2 This Week’s Focus Memory - 5th and 6th Commandments with meanings Religion - This week we cover lessons 5 - 8 over the Bible and being a Christian Language Arts - See attached sheet Math - We will finish up chapter 7 with lesson 5 and a review.  The test will not be until next week. Spelling – Plurals -s, -es, -ies Handwriting – We continue working on the different strokes needed to write in cursive. Social Studies - We will finish up unit 1, with a test on Friday. We are doing a great job of learning our daily schedule.  However, we are struggling with knowing when to talk and when to be quiet.  I have still been lenient with the students because I know this is a big transition back to normal school.  Please discuss with your third grader what they think they can do to help the class focus and pay attention during instruction.  Thank you for your support and help with this.   3rd Grade News September 21 - 25 This Week Memory - The Third and Fourth Commandments and meanings. Religion - This week we will cover lessons 1 - 4 Language Arts - See Attached Sheet Math - This week we will cover lessons 7.2 - 7.5.  Spelling – Short Vowels; Syllables VC/CV Handwriting – This week we start Cursive handwriting. Social Studies - We continue to learn about geography this week. From Mrs. Hines On to week two!  If your child was missing school supplies PLEASE get them in this week so that we can do our best learning.  Last week I was very lenient with the chit chat in the classroom.  I know it will take time to get back into school mode but in order to be successful it takes everyone listening and paying attention. I am not taking last week’s spelling test for a grade, because I really just wanted them to experience taking our spelling test on Spelling City.
