  3rd Grade News April 22-26 This Week’s Focus Memory - Acts 2:42 & Matthew 26:28 Religion - This week we continue Unit 8 with lessons 88-90 Language Arts - See the attached sheet, our grammar topic this week is commas in a series Spelling – Final Syllables Handwriting – This week we continue practicing our cursive handwriting. Math - This week we continue chapter 13 with lessons 2-4. Science - We finish Chapter 9 over weather with a test on Thursday. So far I have one driver for our field trip next week.  If you are available to drive Wednesday morning please let me know.   3rd Grade News April 15-19 This Week’s Focus Memory - 1 Corinthians 11:26 & What is the Sacrament of the Altar? Religion - This week we will start Unit 8 over the Second Table of the Law and Proverbs with lessons 85-87 Language Arts - See the attached sheet, our grammar topic this week is Concrete & Abstract Nouns Spelling – Schwa Handwriting – This week we continue practicing our cursive handwriting. Math - This week we finish Chapter 11 with a test on Wednesday.  We will then begin Chapter 13 over geometry with lessons 1 and 2. Science - We continue Chapter 9 over weather with lessons 3-6. Third grade has a field trip coming up on May 1st.  This is the annual 3rd Grade Ag day that is put on by Benton County FFA.  If you would be available to drive please let me know as soon as possible.     3rd Grade News April 8-12 This Week’s Focus Memory -Romans 6:4a & What does such baptizing with water indicate? Religion - We finish unit 7 over the means of grace with lessons 81-84. Language Arts - See the attached sheet. Spelling – Vowel sounds in moon and foot Handwriting – This week we continue practicing our cursive handwriting. Math - This week we continue chapter 11.  We will continue to do our multiplication timed tests on Wednesday. Social Studies - This week we finish chapter 5 on diversity with a test on Monday. Science - We will begin chapter 9 over weather. This is our first full week of school in quite some time.  I know that it is harder and harder to stay on a school schedule as the spring weather arrives.  Work to keep that routine as normal as possible to benefit the students.  This week we are singing in chapel on Wednesday.  If you are not able to come to watch the students, the chapel service will be live-streamed on Facebook, and I will try to re

    3rd Grade News April 2-5 This Week’s Focus Memory -Titus 3:5 & How can water do such great things? Religion - We continue unit 7 over the means of grace with lessons 78-80. Language Arts - See the attached sheet. Spelling – Suffixes Handwriting – This week we continue practicing our cursive handwriting. Math - This week we start chapter 11 continuing our study of fractions.  We will continue to do our multiplication timed tests on Wednesday. Social Studies - This week we finish chapter 5 on diversity with a test on Friday. I pray that you had a blessed Easter and that you got to spend some time contemplating the amazing gifts given to us through Jesus Christ our Savior.  We have approximately 8 weeks of school left in this school year.  It is amazing how fast it has gone.  We still have a lot to cover and I pray that God gives us all the strength to continue to do our very best work.   3rd Grade News March 18-22 This Week’s Focus Memory -Mark 16:16 & What benefits does Baptism give? Religion - We are starting unit 7 over the means of grace with lessons 73-76. Language Arts - See the attached sheet. Spelling – Vowel Patterns au, augh, ou, ough Handwriting – This week we continue practicing our cursive handwriting. Math - This week we start chapter 10 over fractions.  We will continue to do our multiplication timed tests on Wednesday. Social Studies - We start chapter 5 this week over diversity in the United States. I pray everyone had a relaxing Spring Break and is returning ready to learn.  We will be starting a new chapter in Math and Social Studies.  We will have a mostly normal Language Arts time this week except for the Spelling Bee on Monday.   3rd Grade News March 4-8 This Week’s Focus Memory -Matthew 28:19 & What is Baptism? Religion - NLSW devotions and activities Language Arts - See the attached sheet. Spelling – Vowel Patterns au, augh, ou, ough Handwriting – This week we continue practicing our cursive handwriting. Math - This week we finish chapter nine over multiplying by multiples of ten with a test on Tuesday. Science - This week we finish chapter 8 on electric and magnetic forces with a test on Friday. This week we celebrate National Lutheran School’s Week.  Keep your eyes open for the schedule of dress up days.  Students will get to enjoy several activities including roller skating on Friday.  Please make sure that your child has socks for this activity! With all the events of NLSW we won’t have our regular LA test.  We will instead do some review activities.  This also means we will not have a spelling test this week. Third Grade News: February 26 - March 1

    3rd Grade News February 26 - March 1 This Week’s Focus The time has come!  Monday the students will present their wax museums projects to the class.  They do NOT need to be dressed in their costume for this.  On Tuesday afternoon all the classes will display their boards for the school students (again costumes are NOT needed for this).  Tuesday night is Wax Museum night when students will wear their costumes and “be” their character for half an hour.  I look forward to seeing each child’s creativity in this project.
