    3rd Grade News January 11 - 15 T his Week’s Focus Memory - 2nd Petition of the Lord’s Prayer and Romans 14:17 Religion - This week we move into unit 5 over how God hears and answers His people Language Arts - See attached sheet Math - This week we start learning our 3, 4, 6, and 7 multiplication facts. Spelling – Suffixes Handwriting – This week we continue learning our capital cursive letters. Social Studies - We continue in Unit 3 about geography and the way we live. Our first week back was a little bit crazy.  With one day off and a late start it wasn’t a normal week.  The students were VERY talkative and we struggled to get through all of our material.  I pray that next week will be better with our second week back after break and trying a new whole class management technique. It is incredibly important that students are practicing their multiplication facts each night.  Multiplication is something that will be a part of their math from now...

    3rd Grade News January 4 - 8 T his Week’s Focus Memory - Introduction and 1st Petition of the Lord’s Prayer Religion - This week we continue talking about Jesus Language Arts - See attached sheet Math - This week we are reviewing our 0, 1, 2, 5, and 10 facts.  We will test over these on Friday. Spelling – Spellings of /j/, /s/, /k/ Handwriting – This week we get to start learning our capital cursive letters. Social Studies - We begin Unit 3 about geography and the way we live. I pray everyone had a restful Christmas break.  We are diving right back in with a new reading unit and continuing work on our multiplication facts.  It is very important that students be working at memorizing these facts.  It will make math easier for them in the future.  I sent home flashcards before break for them to use to help them study.  They can also get onto Quizlet.com and practice there.  Students will be taking multiplication timed tests in order ...
