3rd Grade News

This Week’s Focus
Memory – 5th and 6th Commandments and meanings
Religion -   What are the Law and the Gospel? And What are the
Six Chief Parts of Christian Doctrine?
Language Arts - See handout that was sent home.
Math – Lessons 12 - 15 over writing numbers, adding and subtracting
two digit numbers, and rounding.
Spelling – Vowel Diphthongs
Handwriting – Lower case cursive letters
Social Studies – We will be taking a break from Social Studies in order
to focus on science fair.
Science – More in depth look at the scientific method and starting our science fair projects.  Look for a handout coming home this week about what we will need to do our projects.

First off, apologies for not getting spelling words, vocab, and the newsletter up last night.  My evening was thrown off by needing to help
my own children with homework.
I look forward to diving into our science experiments this week and
I think the students will enjoy seeing what we are investigating.  They did a great job last week with our observations of string and a color photo from a newspaper. They came up with a lot of interesting observations that I had
not thought of myself.
This week Wednesday I will be pulling the kids out for a one on one reading progress monitoring test.  Students should take their time and do
their very best reading. I look forward to hearing them read.

In Christ,
Mrs. Hines
