3rd Grade News

September 16 - 20

This Week’s Focus

Memory - 3rd and 4th Commandment and their meanings

Religion - This week we are learning about law and gospel, the six chief
parts of Christian doctrine, and the first table of the law.

Language Arts - See the attached sheet.

Math – This week we finish up our chapter on rounding and estimating
with a test on Monday.  Next we will be covering the chapter on adding
and subtracting multi-digit numbers.

Spelling – Week Three Words: base words and endings

Handwriting – We finish our introduction to cursive writing this week.

Science – We will finish our chapter over Earth and weather with a test on
Thursday.

We are so close to our class reward.  Just a couple more sticks and students
will be rewarded with a fun class activity.  Keep working hard at being quiet and
paying attention to directions.

This week I will be gone to Outdoor Ed with the 5th and 6th grade.  If you
have questions or concerns during this time please be aware that I may not be
able to reply until Friday.  I know the students will continue to work hard and
learn a lot while I am gone.
