This Week’s Focus

Memory - 3rd & 4th Commandments and Meanings

Religion - This week we will cover lessons 10-12 about law, gospel, six chief parts of Christian doctrine, and the first table of the law.

Language Arts - See attached sheet.

Spelling – Vowel Digraphs ee, ea, ai, ay, oa, ow

Handwriting – This week we continue learning our cursive lower case letters, u, w, and e.

Math - This week we start learning different methods for adding numbers.  

Science - This week we start our first Science unit.  Our first unit is all about the scientific method and scientists.

Students have been working hard in the classroom.  We still need a few reminders to use our time wisely and to stay quiet while other students are working.  However, I am so pleased with the progress the class is making.  Our current math unit tends to give students (and parents) a hard time.  Please know that I do not expect students to master all of the methods we talk about.  We study them all so that students can find a method that works best for them.  On the addition test, students will be able to use whichever method they want.
