November 5 - 9

This Week’s Focus
Memory – The First Article of the Creed.  We will do the first half Wednesday and the second half on Friday.
Religion - What is the Church?
Language Arts - See separate sheet sent home.
Math – Practice for our math centers and starting our Math centers on Thursday with lesson 23. We will cover lesson 23 and 24 this week over subtracting three-digit numbers and column addition.
Spelling – Words with spl-, str-, thr-, scr-, and squ-.
Handwriting – Lower case cursive letters
Social Studies – We finis up lesson two over Finding Places in the United States this week.
Science – We learn about the Water Cycle this week.

I look forward to getting back to a more normal routine this week.  With Science Fair over we will kick off a new science chapter about Earth and Weather, starting with the water cycle.  We will also get to start our small group instruction in Math this week using our Math Centers. We are back to a regular Reading/Language Arts unit  focusing on using those skills we reviewed at the end of last week.
Don’t forget that it is Red Ribbon Week here at CLS.  Enjoy those dress up days and work towards having a drug free life!  Also don’t forget our early dismissal at 1:15 on Wednesday this week.

In Christ,
Mrs. Hines
