          3rd Grade News November 29 - December 3 This Week’s Focus Memory - Second Article Religion - We will go through lessons 39 through 42 this week. Language Arts - See attached sheet Spelling –Prefixes Handwriting – This week we are finishing up our lower case letters and moving on to our capital letters. Math - This week we will finish up our multiplication lessons.  We will spend the month of December working on getting those multiplication facts memorized. Social Studies - We will start Unit 3 over Geography and how it affects our lives. I pray you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving break.  We have three and a half weeks until Christmas break, with a lot of material to cover.  Please come ready to put in some work before we celebrate the birth of Christ at Christmas. Language Arts - We will be doing some Thanksgiving activities this week since it is a short week. Spelling – No Spelling This Week Handwriting – This week we continue to learn how to write our lower case letters in cursive. Math - This week we will finish our introduction to our multiplication facts. Social Studies - We will start Unit 3 over Geography and how it affects our lives. Spelling – Contractions Handwriting – This week we continue to learn how to write our lower case letters in cursive. Math - This week we continue learning our multiplication facts. Science - This week we finish chapter 7 with our study of the solar system.  We will work on lesson4 and test on Thursday.       3rd Grade News November 8 - 12 This Week’s Focus Memory - Hebrews 11:3 and Deuteronomy 32:6 Religion - This week we will cover lessons 31 through 34. Language Arts - See attached sheet. Spelling – Consonant Digraphs Handwriting – This week we continue to learn how to write our lower case letters in cursive. Math - This week we finish our first multiplication facts unit.  We will have a test on Thursday.  Then we will continue learning our multiplication facts. Spelling – Words with spl, the, squ, str, scr Handwriting – This week we continue to learn how to write our lower case letters in cursive. Math - This week we start learning our multiplication facts.  Students will bring flashcards home on Friday to help them study these facts.  They will take multiplication fact tests and those who pass all 11 of the time tests will be rewarded at the end of the year with a milkshake party. Math - We will finish up our introduction to multiplication with a test on Thursday. Social Studies - This week we finish Unit 2 over finding places in the United States with a test on Thursday. We have a fun week ahead of us.  We will continue with the grammar, comprehension, and spelling that we started last week.  Our test over these things will be on Tuesday.
